Alloy 904L (UNS N08904) is a superaustenitic stainless steel engineered for moderate to high corrosion resistance across various process environments. Its composition, featuring high chromium and nickel content along with additions of molybdenum and copper, ensures excellent corrosion resistance.

Key Features

• High Alloy Composition: Contains 25% nickel and 4.5% molybdenum for superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and general corrosion compared to 316L and 317L stainless steels.
• Original Purpose: Developed to withstand dilute sulfuric acid environments, it also exhibits good resistance to other inorganic acids like hot phosphoric acid and most organic acids.
