Steel Export and Import Data – April 2024

Steel Export

In April 2024, our country exported 9.224 million tons of steel, marking a 6.7% decrease from the previous month. Cumulatively, steel product exports from January to April reached 35.024 million tons, up by 27.0% compared to the same period last year.

Steel Import

During April, our country imported 658,000 tons of steel, reflecting a 6.6% increase from the previous month. From January to April, steel imports totaled 2.405 million tons, showing a 3.7% decrease year-on-year.

Iron Ore Import

In April, our country imported 101.818 million tons of iron ore and concentrates, up by 1.1% from the previous month. From January to April, iron ore imports totaled 411.821 million tons, a 7.2% increase compared to the previous year.

Coal Import

During April, our country imported 45.252 million tons of coal and lignite, marking a 9.4% increase from the previous month. Cumulatively, coal and lignite imports from January to April totaled 161.154 million tons, showing a 13.1% increase year-on-year.
