  2. High Deformation Force: Stainless steel’s poor thermal conductivity compared to low carbon steel means a larger deformation force is needed.
  3. Formation of Bonding Tumors: Adhesive nodules, or bonding tumors, often form during the deep drawing process.
  4. Springback Issues: Bending and reverse bending at the die’s rounded corners cause springback, leading to concave deformations on the product’s side walls. Products with high dimensional accuracy and shape requirements often need an additional shaping process.

Avoiding Adhesive Nodules

Adhesive nodules, once formed, are hard to remove and tend to grow larger, causing scratches on the surface of the thin stainless steel sheet product. The drawing speed and the degree of sheet deformation also significantly affect the formation of these nodules. The key technical challenge in deep drawing thin stainless steel sheets is to prevent the formation of bonding tumors.
