Welding thin stainless steel sheets (0.2毫米) often leads to deformation and undercut issues, particularly with argon arc welding due to its high temperature impact on the material. However, specific problems require specific solutions. By analyzing and verifying different welding machines, we can find the most suitable option for thin plate welding.

Types of Welding Machines

Several types of welding machines are commonly used, including gas shielded welding, argon arc welding, electric welding, and cold welding. Let’s compare them:

1. Gas Shielded Welding

Gas shielded welding is generally suitable for thicker plates. For plates below 1.5mm, this method can cause deformation and burn-through. Therefore, gas shielded welding is not recommended for thin stainless steel sheets.

2. Argon Arc Welding

Argon arc welding can cause deformation, burn-through, and blackening in plates thinner than 1mm due to its high current density and concentrated heat. It also requires highly skilled operators, making it a less viable option for thin plate welding.

3. Electric Welding

Electric welding is typically used for thicker steel structures. It is not suitable for plates thinner than 3mm, making it an impractical choice for welding thin stainless steel sheets.

4. Cold Welding Machine

Cold welding machines come in two types: precision repair welding machines and electric spark surfacing repair machines. Precision repair welding machines are more suitable for thin plate welding.
